New Deadpool Secret Lair Leaked - What Australian Players Need to Know

18 March 20269 min readNews

A brand-new Deadpool Secret Lair drop has been revealed, and it's exactly the kind of fourth-wall-breaking chaos you'd expect from the Merc with a Mouth. Dubbed "I Fixed It (You're Welcome)", this Pool Party Foil Edition features six cards that Deadpool has personally "corrected" - scribbling over existing MTG cards to upgrade them to their better counterparts.

The leak was revealed on Instagram by content creator Taalia Vess, and if last year's pattern is anything to go by, Australian players should expect this to drop unannounced on April 1, 2026 - April 'Pools Day.

The Six Leaked Cards

The concept behind "I Fixed It" is pure Deadpool: he's taken weaker versions of popular cards and vandalised them into their strictly-better upgrades. Every card features the Pool Party confetti foil treatment with Deadpool's handwritten corrections, doodles, and sticky notes scattered across the art.

The Commander format's most iconic card gets the Deadpool treatment. He's scrawled his face and logo over the original art in a massive rainbow circle, surrounded by confetti and Marvel character doodles. Art by Kevin Sidharta.

Sol Ring is a $3-5 card in its regular printing, but Secret Lair versions of Commander staples consistently command premiums. Expect this to be the chase card of the set.

Lightning Greaves (formerly Swiftfoot Boots)

This is where the "I Fixed It" concept really shines. Deadpool has crossed out "Swiftfoot Boots" and scrawled "Lightning Greaves" over the title, then replaced "hexproof" with a bold "SHROUD" in the rules text. Because why would you pay 1 to equip when you can pay 0? Art by Svetlin Velinov.

Lightning Bolt (with Wolverine Doodles)

Deadpool couldn't resist covering Lightning Bolt in hand-drawn Wolverine doodles - "Wolverine's Style", "Wolverine in Fear" - stuck all over the card like fridge magnets. The original Adam Paquette credit is crossed out in favour of Justine Cruz. Classic Deadpool.

Deadly Dispute (formerly Costly Plunder)

Another brilliant "upgrade" - Deadpool has crossed out "Costly Plunder" and renamed it "DEAD Dispute", then scribbled "AND CREATE A TREASURE TOKEN!!" at the bottom of the rules text, complete with a doodle of stacked Treasure tokens. A sticky note from the "NO - Legal Dept." is stuck on the card, which Deadpool has clearly ignored. Art by Pen Vaifr.

Thrill of Possibility

Thrill of Possibility features Deadpool literally caught in the act of editing the card from within the art itself. He's shown working on the card while the original spell effect plays out behind him. Art by Margaret Biatara Ady.

Mountain (formerly Island)

In perhaps the most Deadpool move of all, he's taken a classic Mark Poole Island and crossed out "Island" everywhere on the card, writing "Mountain" in its place. The art shows a pool party scene with Deadpool characters in party hats lounging on the beach. The basic land type box reads "Island" struck through with "MOUNTAIN" scrawled over it. Because Deadpool plays red, obviously.

The "I Fixed It" concept is mechanically accurate in most cases - Lightning Greaves genuinely costs 0 to equip (vs Swiftfoot Boots' 1), and Deadly Dispute genuinely creates a Treasure token that Costly Plunder doesn't. Deadpool isn't wrong, he's just... creative with intellectual property.

Expected Value and Community Reaction

Based on current market prices, the six cards in this drop have a combined value of roughly $6-7 AUD in their regular printings. MTG Rocks was quick to point out the "abysmal $6.60 in value", though Secret Lair products have never been about raw card value - they're collector pieces.

The community reaction on Reddit has been mixed but largely entertained by the concept. The Pool Party foil treatment and Deadpool's handwritten alterations make these genuinely unique collector items, even if the underlying cards are cheap reprints.

Last Year's Deadpool Secret Lair - What Happened in Australia

To understand what to expect, let's look at how last year's Secret Lair x Marvel's Deadpool played out for Australian players.

The April 'Pools Day Drop (April 1, 2025)

Last year's drop launched unannounced on April 1, 2025 - April 'Pools Day - exclusively through the Secret Lair website. It contained five Deadpool-themed cards with original art:

Deadpool, Trading Card card art
Deadpool, Trading Card

Deadpool, Trading Card - The headliner and a mechanically unique card legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage. This wasn't a reskin of an existing card - it was a brand-new Deadpool card designed specifically for this drop.

Deadly Rollick card art
Deadly Rollick

Deadly Rollick - Free removal spell and Commander staple. One of the most valuable cards in the set.

Saw in Half card art
Saw in Half

Saw in Half - On-theme flavour (it's Deadpool, after all) and a popular Commander combo piece.

Blasphemous Act card art
Blasphemous Act

Blasphemous Act - Classic red board wipe, perfect for Deadpool's destructive personality.

Vandalblast card art
Vandalblast

Vandalblast - Another Commander staple, rounding out a set that offered significantly more raw value than the new drop.

How Australians Bought It

The drop was available in two editions:

Last Year's Deadpool Secret Lair - US Retail Price

EditionUS PriceApprox. AUD
Non-Foil$39.99 USD~$62 AUD
Rainbow Foil$49.99 USD~$78 AUD

However, Australian players faced a different reality. Secret Lair ships from the US, meaning additional shipping and customs costs. Most Australians waited for WPN store allocation, which arrived approximately 3-4 weeks later on April 25, 2025 (non-foil only).

Last Year's Australian Retail Prices

Good Games$150.00Sold OutSold Out

The Deadpool, Trading Card single is currently selling for $35 AUD (Near Mint) at Australian stores like Plenty of Games - also sold out everywhere.

Last year's WPN store allocation was non-foil only. If you wanted the Rainbow Foil edition, you had to order directly from the Secret Lair website and pay international shipping to Australia.

When Will It Drop? Our Prediction

Based on last year's pattern, we're predicting this drops on Tuesday, April 1, 2026 - April 'Pools Day. Here's the likely timeline for Australian players:

Expected Timeline (Australian Dates)

DateEventNotes
April 1, 2026Online drop (Secret Lair website)Ships from US. Expect ~$40-50 USD + shipping
April 1-2, 2026Available in Australia (online)AU is ahead of US timezone - may see it late March 31 US / April 1 AEST
Late April 2026WPN store allocationNon-foil only at participating AU game stores
May 2026Singles hit the marketIndividual cards available at AU retailers

How to Buy in Australia

Option 1: Direct from Secret Lair (Day 1)

Order from secretlair.wizards.com on drop day. You'll pay US pricing (~$40-50 USD) plus international shipping to Australia. Total landed cost is typically $80-100 AUD depending on the edition and shipping method. This is the only way to guarantee the foil edition.

Option 2: Wait for WPN Store Allocation (3-4 Weeks Later)

Australian WPN stores like Good Games, General Games, and others typically receive non-foil allocation 3-4 weeks after the online drop. Expect to pay $95-150 AUD based on last year's pricing. Stock is extremely limited - last year's allocation sold out within days at most stores.

Option 3: Buy Singles After Release

If you only want specific cards (like the Sol Ring or Lightning Bolt), wait for singles to appear on Australian stores. Based on last year, expect singles to be available from May 2026 onwards at stores like Plenty of Games, Good Games TCG, and Mana Market. Compare prices on TCG Snoop once they're listed.

Secret Lair drops are limited-time products - once they're gone, they're gone. Last year's Deadpool Secret Lair sold out at every Australian retailer we tracked. If you want this one, set an alarm for April 1 and be ready to order. Prices on the secondary market can be significantly higher once stock runs out.

Should Australian Players Buy This?

The "I Fixed It" drop is a collector piece, not a value play. At ~$6-7 AUD in raw card value versus an expected $80-150 AUD price tag, you're paying for the novelty, the Deadpool art, and the Pool Party foil treatment.

Buy it if:

  • You're a Deadpool/Marvel fan who plays Commander
  • You want unique versions of Commander staples (Sol Ring, Lightning Greaves)
  • You collect Secret Lair products
  • You think the "vandalised card" concept is hilarious (it is)

Skip it if:

  • You're looking for raw card value
  • You only play competitive formats
  • You'd rather put $100+ toward singles or sealed product for Secrets of Strixhaven releasing the same month

Either way, keep an eye on TCG Snoop for price tracking once these cards hit the Australian market.
